While Joey and I were in the process of building our home in Florida, we befriended Diana, who worked for our builder. We still lived in New Jersey at the time, and drove back and forth between the two states every month to plan the house itself, and then to watch and photograph it as it was being built.
Diana often commented how much she always dreamed of visiting New York City, as she was a born and bred Southern Belle, and never traveled that far north before. Joey and I invited Diana to visit us in New Jersey for a week, and we would show her the sights. We've been in and out of New York all of our lives, and figured this was a great opportunity for Diana, as well as for ourselves... as it would serve as our 'Last Visit To Manhattan'.
Diana always wanted to experience Christmas in the City; to see the famous holiday window displays, the lights, and of course, the Tree at Rockefeller Center. On December 11, 2004, Diana flew to New Jersey to visit with Joey and I, to meet our friends, and to visit New York City with us as her experienced Tour Guides!
I was limited with the number of pictures I could put on this page, but I think you can still get an idea of what we did and saw each day...

Although I named this page "LAST VISIT TO MANHATTAN", Joey and I both know in our hearts that is not completely true. Once the City has gotten into your blood, there is just no way to stay away from it for long. We KNOW we'll be back to Manhattan the next time we travel 'up north' to see our friends and relatives. And I don't think it's possible to stand on the Jersey side of the Hudson River and gaze at that gorgeous New York City Skyline without feeling it pulling you there for another visit...
